Student Exchange Program

This program is designed for students who wish to study at a participating foreign host institution with tuition waiver for one semester or one year. Credits earned at the host institution are transferable. UNIST expects that students will gain varied cultural experiences, greater language proficiency and advanced knowledge in their major from the program.

Eligibility

  • Academic Qualification
    • An undergraduate who has completed at least three semesters
    • Minimum 3.3 GPA
    • A graduate student who has completed at least one semester
      (only applicable to university of strathclyde)
  • Language Requirement
    • English-speaking country: iBT 90/IELTS 6.5
    • Non-English speaking country: iBT 89/TOEIC 850/TEPS 700

Application process

  • Apply to your school office along with the following documents:
    • Application form
    • Original TOEFL score
    • English Certificate of Enrollment
    • English official transcript
    • Two recommendation letters from professors
  • Once your school office has reviewed your information, an interview with professors will be scheduled. An English presentation may be requested to judge your language skills as well as knowledge of your major
  • Each school will select final candidates, then recommend them to UIC
  • UNIST International Center will make final the final decision of successful candidates from all schools, and then inform host institutions.
    • ※ If the number of applicants exceeds the number of students to be exchanged, additional interviews may be arranged by UIC for selection.

Application schedule

  • Spring semester:
    • Program Announcement: late December
    • Application Deadline: mid-March
    • Selection of Final Candidates: late March
  • Fall semester:
    • Program Announcement : late June
    • Application Deadline: mid-September
    • Selection of Final Candidates: late September
